A clear solid glass cube catching and refracting light across its six polished faces.

Glass Cubes

A glass cube replaces the weight and opacity of our metals with something completely different: light. Available in 0.5-inch and 1-inch sizes, these solid transparent cubes turn simple geometry into an object that changes with its surroundings.

About Glass Cubes

Glass cubes built around light

A clear cube is deceptively simple. Six flat faces create reflections, refractions and changing highlights as you move it through the light. Unlike an opaque metal cube, you see into and through the object as well as across its surface.

The collection includes a compact 0.5-inch glass cube and a larger 1-inch glass cube. Both start from the same elemental idea as the rest of Project Atomic: take a material worth looking at and give it a form simple enough to let the material do the work.

A different kind of cube

Glass sits apart from our metal cubes. There is no attempt to mimic the density experience of tungsten or tantalum. The appeal here is optical: transparency, clean edges and the way the cube catches its environment.

The cubes are made from solid glass. We do not specify a particular glass formulation, so the copy focuses on the physical object rather than assigning an unsupported material grade or crystal classification.

Starting from £20, the half-inch version keeps the idea compact. The 1-inch cube gives the material more visual presence.

The two sizes create different optical effects simply by changing the amount of material and the distance light travels through it. Rotate either cube and reflections move across the faces while objects behind it shift through the geometry. It is less about a single fixed appearance than how the object changes as you move around it.

Questions

What are the glass cubes made of?

Project Atomic glass cubes are solid glass. We do not specify a particular glass formulation, so they are described simply and accurately as glass cubes rather than crystal or optical glass.

How big are the glass cubes?

Project Atomic glass cubes are available in two sizes: 0.5 inch and 1 inch along each edge. The smaller version is a compact object for close inspection, while the 1-inch cube gives the transparent material more visual presence and more surface area to interact with light.

How do I clean a glass cube?

Use a clean, soft, lint-free cloth to remove fingerprints and dust. If needed, use a small amount of mild soapy water, then dry thoroughly. Avoid aggressive chemicals or abrasive cleaning methods that could mark the surface.

Does a glass cube come with a stand?

Yes. Both sizes come with a display stand, a custom insert and a drawstring bag.
