Specialist metals and manufacturing

Project Atomic helps engineers, designers and procurement teams source specialist metals and coordinate short-run manufacturing. We work with a network of manufacturing partners to support projects involving difficult-to-source materials, unusual quantities, prototypes and finished components. Project Atomic acts as the sourcing and coordination partner rather than the direct manufacturer.

What we do

Specialist metal supply

We source specialist metals in forms ranging from raw material to finished components. Requirements can include:

  • Tungsten, including pure tungsten and heavy alloys
  • Titanium, including Grade 2 and Grade 5
  • Molybdenum
  • Tantalum
  • Niobium
  • Zirconium and hafnium
  • Indium and bismuth
  • High-performance alloys including Inconel, Monel and Hastelloy
  • Other specialist or high-density metals on request
  • Billet, bar, plate, sheet, powder or finished components

What we do

Manufacturing and processing

Through vetted partner facilities, we can coordinate:

  • CNC machining
  • Turning, milling and grinding
  • Surface finishing and polishing
  • Coatings, where applicable
  • Prototype and low-to-medium-volume production
  • Sample and feasibility runs

Project Atomic manages sourcing and coordination. Manufacturing is carried out by selected partner facilities.

What we do

Typical applications

Projects vary widely, but typical requirements include:

  • Engineering and R&D
  • Counterweights and ballast systems
  • Tooling and wear components
  • Scientific and laboratory equipment
  • Architectural and civil projects
  • Marine and corrosion-resistant applications
  • Specialist commercial or promotional products

Why Project Atomic

Set up for specialist requirements

Large commodity suppliers are not always a natural fit for a small run, an awkward quantity or an unusual geometry. Our model is designed around projects that need more coordination:

  • Small or awkward quantities
  • Unusual geometries
  • High-density or difficult-to-machine materials
  • Early-stage concepts and prototypes
  • Projects where material choice and manufacturing route need to be considered together

Why Project Atomic

Quality and traceability

Quality requirements are agreed around the project. Support can include:

  • ISO 9001-certified manufacturing partners where required
  • Material certification and traceability on request
  • Clear documentation and specification control throughout the process

How it works

Our process

  1. Submit your enquiry using the contact form.
  2. We discuss the material, dimensions, tolerances, quantities and other technical requirements.
  3. We review feasibility and the likely manufacturing route.
  4. Suitable manufacturing partners are selected and quoted.
  5. Samples or prototypes are arranged where required.
  6. Production and delivery are coordinated against the agreed specification.
