About this piece

A softer shape in matte black

A 6mm black tungsten D shape ring takes the same deep PVD-coated finish in a noticeably rounder direction. Instead of defined facets or squared edges, the outside rises in a continuous dome. That curve gives the black surface a softer silhouette and helps the band roll smoothly over the knuckle.

Curved without looking slight

Six millimetres gives the D profile enough width to show its arc clearly while remaining a balanced everyday proportion. The tungsten carbide still provides substantial weight, creating an interesting contrast with the visually smooth shape. It is the black option for someone drawn more to continuous curves than hard-edged geometry. See the wider Black Tungsten rings range or other D Shape rings. Check your measurement with the ring size guide before ordering.

Questions

How do I find my ring size?

Use Project Atomic’s ring size guide before ordering and measure carefully rather than relying on a remembered size. Width and profile can affect how a ring feels on the finger, so getting the starting size right matters. The rings use a comfort-fit interior, and Project Atomic doesn’t resize rings.

What if the ring doesn't fit?

If the size is wrong, send the ring back unworn within 30 days and Project Atomic will exchange it for another size where possible. Check the ring size guide before ordering, especially if you are moving between a narrow and wider band, as width can change how a ring feels.

Will a tungsten ring scratch?

Tungsten carbide is very hard and resists everyday scratches far better than softer metals, but no ring is scratch-proof. Coated and plated finishes can also behave differently from the underlying tungsten carbide. Normal care is still sensible if you want to preserve the finish for as long as possible.

Can a tungsten ring be resized?

Project Atomic doesn’t offer resizing, and tungsten carbide is far too hard to stretch or cut down the way gold or silver can be. Choose your size with the ring size guide before ordering. If the fit is wrong, an unworn ring can be exchanged within 30 days.

What is the F engraved inside the band?

The “F” is Project Atomic’s maker’s mark and stands for Fahrenheit. It is a nod to the extreme melting temperatures associated with the materials Project Atomic works with, and it is engraved inside every ring as a small piece of the brand’s material-science identity.

What does the D shape look like at 6mm wide?

The outer face forms a continuous curve across the 6mm width rather than using a flat centre or angled facets. That gives the ring a rounded outline from either side and makes the black finish look softer in profile. Six millimetres is wide enough for the dome to be obvious without producing the broader visual footprint of the 8mm version.

Why choose the 6mm D shape rather than the bevelled profile?

Choose it if you prefer a continuous curved silhouette. The bevelled version uses angled edges to frame a flatter centre, whereas the D shape rounds across the outside of the band. Both are 6mm matte black tungsten carbide rings, so the deciding difference is primarily whether you prefer softer curvature or more visibly faceted geometry.
